Peanuts Party -- October 2025

Celebrating 75 Years of Peanuts, RPG Demo Night, and History of Zines Events

Friday, October 17 @ 5pm:

Vince Guaraldi & Peanuts Listening Party

“It’s Your Listening Party, Charlie Brown!”

Pencil in Friday, Oct. 17 as Peanuts Day. Mojomala is joining with other indie record shops across the country to celebrate 75 years of Vince Guaraldi’s jazzy classic soundtracks.

Beginning at 5pm, bop around like Sherman and Patty to a selection of Vince Guaraldi tracks, pick up some sweet Snoopy swag, and stick around for a screening of “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”

This event is free to attend. Parking is best at the county lot one block from the shop at the intersection of Cameron Street & 2nd Avenue.

Tuesday, October 28 @ 7pm:

Cats of Catthulhu game night!

Veteran game designer and Silver Spring local Joel Sparks will be at the shop for a fun demo of his popular CATS OF CATTHULHU. Feline fans and lovers of Lovecraft alike will enjoy this rules-light roleplaying game where ordinary cats defend the world.

Anyone is welcome to watch and learn how to play the game. We are also looking for four-to-five volunteers to play the game during the demo. Send me an email if you’d like to reserve a spot at the table.

Looking Ahead: January 23, 2026:

The History Of Punk Zines Panel Talk

Make sure to plan ahead for an event we’re super excited about in January.

Mojomala is hosting a discussion on zinemaking and the history of punk fanzines. Moderated by Chris L. Terry (co-editor of Black Punk Now, author of Black Card), the panel will consist of John R. Davis (author of the new book, Keep Your Ear to the Ground: A History of Punk Fanzines in Washington, D.C.), Willona Sloan (writer and Scorpion zine editor in the late 1990s/early 2000s), and Mark Robinson (member of Unrest, founder of Teen Beat Records, editor of The Straight Line zine in the 1980s).

And if that isn’t cool enough for you, Mark will also perform a musical set following the discussion!

This is a free event but will require reservations as we expect it will be crowded.
