My name is Michael Abate, and I own Mojomala Books, Records & Cool Stuff. We're a family-run, independent books and records shop in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. I opened Mojomala in 2021 with the idea to provide a friendly, inviting and curated space for collectors. We offer used, new and vintage items ranging from books, records, CDs, DVDs, magazines, comics, games, toys and apparel.

Our hope is that each time you visit you'll find a forgotten treasure or discover something new.

Our brick-and-mortar location is in the Silver Spring Metro Plaza steps from the metro station and next to Silver Branch brewery. Public parking is available one block away at the Cameron Street & 2nd Avenue county lot. 

Online orders are accepted 24 hours at www.mojomala.com. Online orders are responded to as soon as possible, and generally shipped out with 1-2 business days after receiving payment.

Where did you get the name "Mojomala?"

If you're curious, MOJOMALA (pronounced "moe-joe-mah-lah") is a combination of my oldest daughter Madeleine Olivia (the "MO"), our youngest daughter Josie (the "JO"), my name (the "MA") and my wife Laura's name (the "LA."). We wanted a name that could mean anything and everything.
